I've been bored out of my skull lately and decided to make mini collage. Here's one entitled "Brooklyn Gentrification Yuppie Revolt" a.k.a "Le service est compris?" (wheat paste, markers, india ink, prismacolor, sharpie, and vintage national geographic magazines).

the past two summers (not including this one) my daily routine was wake up at 1pm, read a book, do a bit of collage, go to the post office and send my collage to someone, and then walk to the library, get a new book, and check out some movies, walk home, lounge/read/collage some more, then my brothers and I would listen to records in my attic/loft bedroom, and then we would make popcorn and lemonade and stay up really late watching the movies we checked out at the library. and those were the best two summers of my life. (but the point of this story which i failed to mention, is that I almost exclusively collaged with national geographics from the 1970s and earlier) library booksale!!!!!
i once worked at a library and it was really cool...but sort of annoying. i didn't get into collaging until high school but i'm starting to make more of them now that i have so many weird magazines around the place. the basement/ laundry room in my apartment building sometimes has a lot of things people give up (a copy of rosemary's baby paperback, a pile of old nat. geo's and other assorted things...i took like 15 back upstairs when doing laundry, once...some dated back to 1968).
